How Long Does The Platinum Double Diploma Take To Complete?

celebrant training Feb 06, 2023

Whether you are already trained as a celebrant, or are thinking about training with us, you have the option to complete the Platinum Double Diploma in Civil Celebrancy. This is an NOCN accredited higher diploma that incorporates both the Diploma in Couples and Naming, and the Diploma in Funerals, and is currently the most comprehensive accredited course available anywhere. Before you make the decision to go Platinum, you will need to consider how much time needs to be spent on this course. After all, you wouldn’t want to begin something that you cannot complete.

Why Go Platinum?

There are many reasons to choose the Platinum Double Diploma when training to be a celebrant. There are also very good reasons for trained celebrants to further their learning through this path.

Firstly, The Platinum Double Diploma is the highest possible celebrancy qualification available, and is exclusively offered by the International College of Professional Celebrants. The Diploma has been fully verified by an external verifier and is accredited with NOCN.

The course is extremely comprehensive, extensively covering all types of funerals, burials and interments; different types of naming ceremonies and wedding ceremonies, so that you can be fully prepared for any type of client or ceremony in your career. Running your Celebrant business is also included in one of the ten accessible projects, which will equip you to run a more efficient business. This inclusivity is in keeping with the philosophy of ICPC as it takes an holistic approach and follows a  belief that celebrants who understand all aspects of being a celebrant, will become a better celebrant no matter if they decide to specialise at a later date.

And, as nowhere else is offering such an advanced qualification, you will stand out amongst your peers, giving you the edge when booking future work.

How Long Does The PDD Take?

There are two answers to this question depending on where you are in your celebrancy journey so far.

Every person who undertakes the Platinum Double Diploma is allocated 18 months to complete the 10-project course. You can learn at your own pace, in your own time, and do the project as quickly or as slow-paced as you like.

For those of you who have already trained as a celebrant and have completed your NOCN Level 3 Certificate, we have good news for you.

You can further your learning despite having already done the Level 3 Certificate. We anticipate that you will work through the Platinum Double Diploma at a much quicker pace than those who have not completed it. This is because you will have already met a lot of the criteria for the PDD when doing your Certificate, and therefore can reuse your work to meet those criteria.

If you have partially completed your Level 3 Certificate - you can choose to carry on to completion and then progress to the PDD or you can pause where you are and progress immediately to the PDD without completing the Level 3 Certificate. The choice is yours. However, any work you have done will be useful to transfer across to the PDD - but you might expect to take a bit longer to complete it.

For those of you who have not yet trained as a celebrant, you will need initially to carry out your Online or Residential training and then you will be able to complete each section of the PDD within an 18 month timeframe.
