Using LinkedIn for Celebrancy Marketing

Jun 17, 2024

On 6th August, we are running a members-only CPD on how to use LinkedIn in Celebrancy to grow and develop your business. But we also understand that marketing and using social networks can feel daunting and confusing to many of you, and wanted to give you a bit of background about LinkedIn, and how you can best utilise it.

As always, we are committed to helping you establish and grow your Celebrancy business, so if you have any questions about marketing or business development, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

What is LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is an online networking tool used by professionals from all industries, globally. It currently has more than 1 billion members, making it one of the most successful and active social media platforms in the world. Every user has a profile page, where they can list their professional achievements, employment history and skills. Members can connect and interact, leave each other public recommendations, have discussions and send private messages. It’s a brilliant environment for anyone wishing to meet new people, connect online and work together.

As a Celebrant, LinkedIn is a good business development tool for networking with other industry professionals, including funeral directors, wedding suppliers and venues. It is not a tool that you would use to find customers for bookings directly, but a way of establishing a professional presence and getting your name out there, which ultimately leads to more work.

The Benefits of Being on LinkedIn

As a Celebrant, there are many potential benefits to joining LinkedIn.

  1. You Establishing Credibility

LinkedIn provides you with a platform to showcase your expertise, experience, and qualifications. By creating a compelling LinkedIn profile that highlights your background, certifications, and testimonials from happy clients, you can establish credibility and authority within your industry.

  1. Networking and Referral Sources:

LinkedIn offers you a vast network of professionals across different industries. By strategically connecting with event planners, wedding coordinators, funeral directors, and other relevant professionals, you can expand your referral network and become more known within your industry.

  1. Showcasing Your Services and Knowledge

LinkedIn allows you to showcase your unique style and branding, and highlight any niche offerings (such as cultural fusion ceremonies). Regularly updating your LinkedIn profile with case studies, client testimonials, and examples of past ceremonies helps others to see your capabilities. You can engage in discussions, post articles or link to interesting online content as a way of demonstrating your knowledge and expertise.

  1. Professional Development and Collaboration Opportunities:

LinkedIn is a hub for continuous learning and professional development. As a working Celebrant, you can join groups and follow influencers within the Celebrant community to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new industry regulations and policies. You can even attend virtual events or webinars hosted by industry experts. Or, if you are feeling brave, you can host your own webinars to share your industry knowledge.

  1. It’s Free

Being a Linkedin member can be free, or you can choose to pay a premium for extra features. This means you don’t have to fork out huge costs, and can still get a good marketing return. Being a free member is great if you are new to LinkedIn and are just getting to grips with how it works. If you feel confident, you can upgrade your subscription for extra features such as direct messaging. If you have not yet set up your Celebrancy website, LinkedIn can be a good tool to use in the interim.
