What Support Is Offered by ICPC?

Mar 05, 2023

Embarking on any new journey in life is exciting, liberating and a little bit scary. We know - we have all been there. Deciding to change career direction and train in something new takes a lot of courage, and we commend you for even considering it.

If you are curious about becoming a Civil Celebrant, you can attend our residential 5 day training course. You also complete your Level 3 Certificate or Platinum Double Diploma in Civil Celebrancy.

No matter which qualification you take, support is available every step of the way. We want to tell you more about the unparalleled, practical, emotional and educational support you receive when you train with ICPC. In the video, you can hear more about this from one of our delegates.

Before Training

The support for your career change into celebrancy begins at the very first step. This means, once you have made an inquiry, our customer service team is there to answer your questions, address any concerns, and give you the encouragement you might need to take the plunge into this incredible new journey.

Once you have booked your place on our residential training, you will be invited to join a cohort community WhatsApp group, where you can introduce yourself to your future cohort before meeting in person. You can remain part of this group throughout training and beyond.

You’ll receive everything you need to know about your training, including logistical information, all training resources, and access to our support team to answer any further questions you have. We take time to ensure that you are fully prepared for your training course, so that you can begin gaining confidence and feel assured of what lays ahead.

During Training

You will receive personalised support while training with us. Our trainers will adapt to your learning style, ensuring that all your needs and preferences are catered for wherever possible.

Training is interactive, so we welcome questions and feedback throughout. No two training courses are identical because no two cohorts are! We fit around you, as an individual and as a group.

We want to make sure you feel completely comfortable while staying at our residential training premises, High Trenhouse. The house itself has a team on-site to help get you settled into your room, show you around and make sure you know where to be when training begins.

Furthermore, trainers stay on-site with you, will eat meals with you and might socialise with you in the evenings, so you can receive support even when you are away from the training room.

We understand that some topics within celebrancy training are challenging to learn about. If you are feeling overwhelmed, we can give you emotional support to help you with this aspect of your learning. High Trenhouse is also the perfect location for taking time away from the group and reflecting on your experiences of the course, and any feelings it brings up for you.

After Training

When it’s time to say goodbye to your cohort, you’ll be able to stay in touch with them (and with the ICPC staff and trainers). Remember, with ICPC you get a year’s membership included in the cost of your course, and this means you receive additional support after training as a civil celebrant.

There are several ways you are supported after training.

Firstly, you’ll be looking to complete your Level 3 Certificate or Platinum Double Diploma, so will have access to study groups and 1:1 tutoring support as you work your way through this qualification.

You can receive business development support with Stuart and Julie, so that your business can get off the ground and begin to flourish.

You will have the opportunity to further your learning, such as carrying out  a digital marketing course for celebrants, attending free CPD, taking part in Members Days or one of the many workshops we host throughout the year.

You will also be encouraged to connect with other ICPC trained Celebrants in  celebrant meetups, so that you can reconnect with people from your cohort and meet new celebrants too.
