3 Weekly Must-Do Activities For Celebrants
Dec 21, 2023As a civil celebrant, creating a thriving business requires consistent effort and dedication. Each week provides an opportunity to strengthen your brand, expand your network, and improve your service quality. To help you navigate the journey, here are three essential activities you should prioritise every week to elevate your civil celebrant business. We also encourage you to speak to other Celebrants and learn about what they do each week to maintain their celebrancy business.
Networking and Relationship Building
Networking is the cornerstone of any successful celebrancy business. It’s one of the reasons we set up Celebrant Connect, a networking tool exclusive to ICPC, to help our Celebrants keep in touch and learn from each other. If you are a member, you can sign up to Celebrant Connect here.
You should make it a priority to connect with fellow celebrants, event planners, vendors, and community members regularly. Networking isn’t just about generating referrals; it’s about building meaningful relationships that can benefit your business in the long run.
You can attend events, collaborate with your peers, and check in with past customers to keep these relationships strong.
Content Creation and Marketing
Regularly creating and sharing high-quality content is a powerful way to establish your brand identity, showcase your expertise, and attract potential clients. Tailor your content to resonate with your target audience and demonstrate your unique approach as a civil celebrant.
Blogging is a great way to do this (or Vlogging which is the video version). Write insightful blog posts about the significance of ceremonies, wedding traditions, and your experiences as a celebrant. Share tips for couples planning their ceremonies and emphasise the value you can bring to their special day.
You can also participate in social media engagement and send out emails to people you think might be interested in ceremonies.
In the ICPC shop there is a useful resource for CPD and gaining understanding and skills in Creating Reels for Social Media. You can find it here:
Continuous Learning and Skill Enhancement
The field of civil celebrancy is constantly evolving, with new trends, legal requirements, and client preferences emerging. Allocate time each week to enhance your skills, broaden your knowledge, and stay updated with the latest industry advancements.
A great way to do this is to sign up to the ICPC CPD, where we address different topics and help you to continue to learn and grow as a Celebrant. You can also ask clients for feedback, enrol on independent courses, or seek mentorship from other Celebrants.
Alternatively, you can ask us about progressing your Level 3 Certificate in Civil Celebrancy to our Platinum Double Diploma. Find out more about this diploma here.
Incorporating these weekly activities into your routine will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and success of your civil celebrant business. Consistency, dedication, and a genuine passion for creating meaningful ceremonies will set you on a path to success in this fulfilling profession.
